Producer Terms
Version producer-terms-2026-10-30-draft1. This page is a structure; an attorney has to review it before it is the legal text.
Who this is for
These terms apply when you upload a beat to HOOK DROP, run by Digital Currensy Inc. (DCI). Uploading needs an approved application and an invite.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older. You confirm your date of birth when you apply.
Ownership warranty
You confirm that you created the beat or control all rights in it, that it contains no uncleared samples, loops or third-party material, and that every person with a share is listed with their agreed split. These are the five boxes you tick at upload: created_or_controls, no_uncleared_samples, splits_agreed, hosting_license, removal_on_claim.
Accepted files
MP3 or WAV only, 15 seconds to 10 minutes, up to 50 MB. We check the real file header, an exact SHA-256 hash and a perceptual audio fingerprint; re-encoded copies of an existing beat are refused.
License to DCI
You grant DCI a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, stream, copy (including backups on infrastructure DCI controls), display, feature (Beat of the Week), and let users record hooks over the beat inside HOOK DROP and share those takes, and to promote HOOK DROP with it. You keep ownership. You can ask us to remove the beat; takes already made may stay in users' private archives.
Money and split
HOOK DROP keeps a marketplace fee of 2000 basis points (20%) of each gross amount on beats you upload, in integer cents. The rest is yours, less the card processing fee. The 28 founder catalog beats are not part of this split.
Tips are tips, not a license to the beat.
Payouts
Payouts go through Stripe Connect Express. You finish Stripe-hosted onboarding, including the tax form Stripe asks for (W-9 or W-8BEN). DCI does not store your tax ID. Payouts run only while Stripe shows nothing due on your account. HOOK DROP is in Stripe test mode until launch; no real money moves before then.
Takedowns
Anyone can file a claim at /dmca. A claim hides the beat while we review it. Upheld claims keep it removed; dismissed claims restore it. Repeat infringers lose upload access.
Indemnity
[Placeholder for counsel: producer indemnity for breach of the ownership warranty.]
Termination
You can stop uploading at any time. We can remove beats or close upload access for breach of these terms.
Disputes
[Placeholder for counsel: governing law, venue and any arbitration term. None applies until counsel finalises it.]
